AV in the OR
AV systems have become commonplace in the modern medical center, from menu displays in the public cafeteria to in-room patient entertainment to nursing aids. The final frontier, for obvious reasons, is the operating room, which even with its obvious reasons, is increasingly seeing the integration of AV equipment. This is not an area for the faint-hearted or, indeed, the inexperienced contractor. Designing and integrating systems for ues within the operating room’s sterile field – the area immediately around the surgery patient, including all associated equipment and furniture, as well as properly attired and prepared staff – is highly specialized and scrupulously regulated.
