Now, Here’s a Big One
There’s a new digital sign in Times Square that “stands eight stories tall and is nearly as long as a football field, spanning the entire block from 45th Street to 46th Street on Broadway,” according to the New York Times. It has about 24 million LED pixels that give it a resolution that’s higher than the best flat screen TVs. This tremendous example of a DOOH display rents out at $2.5 million per month with Google taking the ad space through the all-important New Year’s events.
It’s interesting that the article notes that it’s not the largest electronic billboard in the world – that honor goes to the 820.2 feet long and 39.3 feet tall sign at the King Khaled International Airport in Saudi Arabia, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
