Q: Can I customize the signage display more?

A: Yes, many types of preferences can be set for your account. As part of your initial setup fee, we can create a custom background template for you. Click here for some samples of custom templates and creation instructions.

Q: Why do you give away a free subscription?

A: By using the free trial, you get to take advantage of the StrandVision digital signage video messaging system without paying a thing. Once you see how it works you can subscribe and continue to use it, and take advantage of even more capabilities.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: There are several service packages available. We show our recommendations of the services you can use along with the prices on our pricing page.

Q: How can I play video on my signage?

A: For satellite or cable television, a standard Windows video capture card can be used. Click here for instructions.

Your edited and copyright-cleared video is either mailed or uploaded to the StrandVision ftp site using the login information provided to you with your video package purchase. It is converted to the signage format and installed on your account within 1 business day. The electronically supported video types are:

  • QuickTime (.mov)
  • Video for Windows (.avi)
  • MPEG Movie (.mpg, .mpeg)
  • Digital Video (.dv, .dvi)
  • Windows Media (.asf, .wmv)
  • Macromedia Flash Video (.flv)

The playback computer must be running the standalone player on a 2.6 Ghz computer with Windows operating system. Your electronically transmitted video clips should use an NTSC Microsoft or QuickTime compatible DV Compressor. Click here for additional instructions (registration required)

Q: How can I get information from my web site on my digital sign?

A: There are many ways to do that. You can use in-house technical staff, an outside developer, or you can turn to StrandVision. StrandVision can do custom development to gather information from your copyright-cleared web site.

Q: Do you have a reseller program?

Q: Why is the stock information unavailable?

A: Stock information is an optional service. Contact StrandVision to activate that portion of your account.

security windowQ: Why is a flash player setting window appearing over my signage?

A: Certain signage pages such as the local streaming video page type need access to your camera or microphone. When you see the box similar to that shown to the right, click on the "Allow" and "Remember" checkboxes and click close. That allows playback of your television or camera video from that point forward with no additional interaction.

Q: Can I play background music on my sign?

A: StrandVision Digital Signage allows background music to be played whenever streaming video is not being played. This is accomplished by connecting an audio source to the microphone jack of the playback computer. Instructions to configure this can be found here.

Q: Can I include a PowerPoint presentation in my sign?

A: StrandVision Digital Signage includes a free PowerPoint to Jpeg conversion utility to all subscribers. Instructions to use this tool can be found here.
