StrandVision’s database feature is a handy tool for many situations. Located in your administrative area, you simply log in and click on “Modify Signage,” then select “Databases” and you’re in business. There, you can create a database (or more than one) and type in your information, for instance, a monthly update of employees and their anniversary dates. After that you simply add the database slide to your slide deck and it will automatically display in each cycle. Each time it goes through the cycle, a new random record is selected. You can also select which database you want to display (say, anniversaries) or have it select from all of the databases available for viewing.
Another great way to use the database feature is to have it display scheduled meetings or events. A nursing home is using it to remind residents of upcoming activities and events. It shows each day’s events. A hotel or college could use the database feature to list meeting schedules and locations. An added capability, using StrandVision’s scheduling feature, would be to have the meeting times displayed only until the event begins – then the scheduler would take that announcement out of the mix.
Remember, as with every aspect of StrandVision’s digital signs, this is a simple-to-use feature that doesn't require any advanced technical skills. Anybody who can surf the Web can handle the StrandVision database. And, as always, we continue to work on it. Look for more enhancements over the next few months.
