StrandVision offers database capabilities with all of its packages. Both the "Basic" and "TV Playback" packages offer text databases that are flexible and easy to use. Now, StrandVision is introducing a whole new level in its "Streaming Video" package. Starting today, in addition to enabling streaming video clips to be inserted into your page mix, you can now create a database that includes photos that can be displayed with supporting text.  The other packages have enhanced database capabilities as well.

It’s easy. You simply select the database page template in your "Modify Signage" section. Give the page a Name and Title and then select the Database to use.

The Database area allows you to fill in text fields, selecting from several different text styles and positions from dropdown menus. Then you can add a photo using a familiar "Browse and Select" feature that allows you to conveniently upload the photo from your desktop.

That’s it! With this new graphics database feature you can add dozens or even hundreds of attractive photos with matching text.  Additional capabilities include sorting and page search to make editing and deleting database records quickly. Records can also be moved between databases that have the same format.

In playback mode, StrandVision accesses the database record and matches the photo to its related text. You can direct records to be randomly or sequentially displayed in your page mix. For instance, sticking with the real estate example, you can create a number of listings within price ranges ($100,000 to $150,000, $150,000 to $200,000, etc.) with any number of records in each price range. Then place the various price databases into your page mix. Each real estate listing, with the corresponding picture, will then be displayed according to your schedule and sort instructions.

The StrandVision graphics database is a powerful feature that spices up any digital signage page. It is useful for many applications:

• Real Estate - Show current listings, past sales, feature sales agents
• Distributors - Feature products and special promotions, new items, employees
• Retailers - Feature products and special promotions, sales items
• Restaurants - Display specials, desserts, other impulse buys
• Employee communications - Employee recognition/promotions, employee events and anniversaries, community activities, photo contests, menus, club activities
• Hospitality - Health facilities, meetings rooms, menu items, property amenities, staff profiles
• Schools and colleges - School activities, clubs and sports notices, student recognition, menus
• Essentially, any message that will be enhanced by a photo is an appropriate use for this new graphical database capability.
