Native American Indian Heritage Month
Appreciation for Native Americans
On August 3, 1990 President of the United States George H. W. Bush declared the month of November as National American Indian Heritage Month, thereafter commonly referred to as Native American Heritage Month
This commemorative month aims to provide a platform for Native people in the United States of America to share their culture, traditions, music, crafts, dance, and ways and concepts of life.
This gives Native people the opportunity to express to their community, both city, county and state officials their concerns and solutions for building bridges of understanding and friendship in their local area.
National Hispanic Heritage Month
From September 15 through October 15, Americans celebrate the cultures and histories of American citizens whose ancestors from Hispanic regions.
September 15 is the day of independence for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson and Ronald Reagan helped to start this celebration in the late 1970's and enact it into law several years later.
National Asian Pacific American Heritage Month
Cause for a worthy celebration!
The month of May is the celebration of Asians and Pacific Islanders in America. We celebrate their cultures and their accomplishments they have had in America.
May is chosen as the appreciation month because of several milestones set by Asians and Pacific Islanders occurring in the month of May over the previous years, such as the first Japanese immigration.
