Painting a room can result in chemical fumes. Make sure to crack a window or wear a proper breathing mask. Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) paints are now available.

Wear protective equipment, such as goggles and clothing that covers the skin. Paint can irritate eyes and skin.
