Don't Lose the Attention of your Employees or Customers

Repeating the same content will not only lose your viewers, but repetitive sounds can lose you employees...

During the 14 years we have been doing electronic signage systems, one of the biggest issues we have encountered is digital signage content that repeats so regularly that your viewers guess what is coming up next. We have all heard that "variety is the spice of life", and that is especially true for electronic signage.

StrandVision does offer suggestions to enhance your signage on the summary page when you log in, but since you are in full control over your content, your organization has the final decision on digital sign content and delivery. So it is important to pay attention to the recommendations offered by your signage account and also what you hear from your viewers. Once you lose the attention of your viewers, it is often hard to get it back. The StrandVision system has lots of page types that are designed to offer regularly updated signage content such as weather, news, trivia, quotes and other communication library content. We also provide scheduling plus several systems such as random videos and photos, people database and user database to keep your own information regularly updated.

Another issue that we see is when videos are added as separate pages rather than allowing them all to be included in a single page and randomly selected by the StrandVision system. There are times where it is important to play videos in sequence, but if your videos have sound and there are fellow employees that consistently work near the screen, they will hate having the same video and audio repeating hundreds of times per day. Those are the situations where the volume mysteriously gets turned down on the tv screen - or even worse - the employee leaves your organization because of the annoying environment they work in.

Understandably, many of our customers concentrate on the visual (informational slides, weather, news and advertisements) when they first set up their systems. But there is the digital signage audio component too. In addition to determining the best way to reach your target audience when creating video content, also keep yourself in fellow employee's shoes so that the signage content does not make them grumpy or drive them away.

As always, the StrandVision team is here to help you with any questions you have on digital signage content. We are happy to hear from you so call 715-235-SIGN (7446) whenever you have a question or thought.
